Job Title: Catering Supervisor

Department: Catering

Reports To: General Manager of Catering

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

Responsible for monitoring events and customer service standards are upheld.

Essential Functions:

Event Operation – 100%

  • Monitors events/deliveries to ensure guest service and food standards are upheld.
  • Analyzes all events in order to properly administer set-up.
  • Communicates maintenance needs of vehicles to Maintenance Department.
  • Oversees event staff.
  • Ensures compliance with all food handling standards.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate inventory controls and pars on linen, equipment, food and beverage.
  • Communicates all safety hazards to Director of Catering and Assistant Catering Managers immediately and ensures that all associates are applying safe work habits to all actions as they execute their jobs.
  • Participates in subordinate coaching, counseling and disciplinary procedures.
  • Responds to guest comments and concerns.
  • Conducts a thorough walk through at the end of the shift to ensure each station is neat, clean and restocked.
  • Responsible for preparing and placing food, paper and service ware orders.
  • Proficient in all hourly positions with the ability to jump in and assist where needed.

                       CDS Job Description

Education and Training:

  • Associate's Degree or higher in food service or related field preferred.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Highly organized with good time management skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Ability to proactively problem solve.
  • Highly developed customer/guest service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team situation.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a commercial truck.
  • Must be able to work on flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, holidays, etc.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs., bend, reach and any other physical demands of the position.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended amount of time as job needed.
  • Good visual acuity for reading reports, computer work, etc.


Licensure/Certification: none required.
